Equal Access to Services: ADA and Title VI
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)
The Riverside County Transportation and Land Management Agency (TLMA) is dedicated to ensuring that all qualified individuals with disabilities have equal and full access to services.
Under state and federal law, no qualified individual with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of services, programs, or activities of a public entity, or be subjected to discrimination by any such entity.
Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires local governments to provide persons with disabilities an equal opportunity to benefit from government programs, services, and activities. To document and monitor our compliance with Title II of the ADA, TLMA's Transportation Department has prepared a self-evaluation and transition plan for access in the public road right-of-way.
It is the goal of the County of Riverside's Transportation Department to provide safe and usable pedestrian facilities for all pedestrians and to assure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside adopted the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan for Access in the Public Road Right-of-Way on March 12, 2013.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
The Title VI Program reflects the commitment by the Department, under the Countywide Title VI Policy, to comply and ensure that no person shall, on the basis of race, color, or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity provided by the Transportation and Land Management Agency.
